It’s October and the long bright days of Summer are fading to grey.  Fall is upon us and now the iridescence of bright blues, whimsical whites and jubilant yellows fade into forest greens, burnt oranges and mellow browns.  Grays and Blacks are back with a vengeance, but keep it fun, all black everything with a splash of color on the feet below or the head above will always help make your Winter hot like Summer.  No longer do we behold to the rules of old; No white after Labor Day. Have you ever heard of Winter white? Now throw away the tanks and tees of Summer and wrap a scarf around your neck, a three quarter length fur around your back and some sky high boots on your feet. The opulence of Winter is your pallet and your body is your canvas. So pop in your Diddy Beats earbuds, throw the Macbook in your Black Beauty Headporter case and set your ipod to The Coldest Winter and gear up to navigate the concrete jungle. Of the three definitive emerging stars in Hip Hop, although none of the three can be accurately confined to any particular genre, grammy nominated Drake has had the most success in the first year of their inception. This is black “hoodie” rap! Kanye West’s “Power” is the song of the year and it’s only June. It will be hard for another artist to surpass the message and the relevance of this song. With enough oil spewing into the gulf to send a moped to Uranus and BP literally getting away with murder; Kanye’s award show antics seem to fail in comparison to the real “POWERs that be”.
